Born in Wallington, Surrey, England his interest in playing a guitar started when he was 6 years old after hearing Les Paul playing on the radio. At 10 he was singing in church, soon after he learned how to play using borrowed guitars during his teen years. He attended Wimbledon College of Art and after graduating he worked odd jobs before pursuing music full time. Beck had a long successful career spanning over 40 years, he recorded with a lot of artists. He was ranked in the top five of Rolling Stone and other magazines' lists rankings of the greatest guitarists. Beck was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, first as a member of the Yardbirds in 1992 and secondly as a solo artist in 2009.
