national anthem of Angola. In addition to his music career, Mingas had a successful diplomatic and
political career which began in the 1970s where he participated in the war of Angola's independence as
a member of Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) . Mingas was a successful
businessman, involved in several ventures including owning a popular nightclub in Luanda, which was a
