Growing up Mulin had an ordinary childhood and was known to have lots of friends he was even voted as most likely to succeed in his class. Growing up Mulin had an ordinary childhood and was known to have lots of friends he was even voted as most likely to succeed in his class. This took a drastic change when one of his high school friends was killed in a car accident which severely affected him. He had been diagnosed with schizophrenic disorder shortly before his friend’s death and the death of his friend only fueled his obsession with death and reincarnation. He was first admitted to Mendocino State Hospital and was in and out of various mental hospitals until he was 25. He was a drug abuser and it only worsened his mental illness.
His First victim was Lawrence Whitey’s who had offered to help Mulin to fix his car. Mulin always had crazy reasons for killing and in this case claimed that Whitey looked like Jonah from the bible and had sent him telepathic messages to kill him so others can be saved. He was caught after a four months Killing spree and during trial he pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. He confessed to the killings, which he claimed prevented earthquakes. He was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment.
During his prison life he applied for parole and was denied eight times. He died at the age of 75 from natural causes.
