She appeared in several Broadway productions like Three Sisters, A Streetcar Named Desire and Sly Fox. Seacat also had television and film roles and directed one film titled In the Spirit. Her teaching career began in the 1970s at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, City College of New York's Leonard Davis Center for the Performing Arts, the Actors Studio where she taught privately. She pioneered the practice of dream work, in which actors study and play characters from their dreams.
