Donald Newkirk was an American musician, composer and record producer. He collaborated with De La Soul, 3rd Base and Prince Paul and was among one of the first artists to be signed to Def Jam. In 1989 Newkirk released his first album titled Funk City which had relative success, he also released a single soon after that called Small Thing but it was not included in the album Funk City, it was however included on the sound track of the film Livin Large.
