Dokolo was married to Isabel dos Santos, the daughter of Angola's former president, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, and Africa's richest woman with an estimated net worth of $2.2 billion (2020) and business empire which span oil, jewelry and telecoms. Dokolo launched a worldwide campaign to force Western museums, auction houses, and art dealers to return Africa's art stolen pieces during the colonial era.
