Purvis Jennings "Jim" Ferree was an American professional golfer best known for playing on the PGA Tour and the Senior PGA Tour. When he was in his thirties and forties he became the director of golf at Long Cove Club. In 1981 he joined the Senior PGA Tour at age fifty and was named the Senior PGA Tour's Comeback Player of the Year in 1993. Ferree shares the Georgia-Pacific Grand Champions record for most victories with two other golfers and was the first golfer inducted into the University of North Carolina's Hall of Fame in 1991.
