Robert Hunter Caldwell was an American singer, songwriter, and musician best known for his R&B hit singles such as Open Your Eyes and What You Won’t Do for Love. In the early 1970s, he received his big break as a rhythm guitarist for Little Richard but soon left to pursue a solo career. In 1978 he signed with TK Records and subsequently released his self titled debut album which was certified double platinum in the US and platinum in Japan. What You Won't Do for Love on the album reached the top ten on the Billboard magazine Hot 100 No.9 and R&B No. 6, the song has been sampled and covered by many artist through out the years. He went on to release several albums after that which were relatively successful. He also doubled as a songwriter for other TK records artists. Caldwell wrote The Next Time I Fall, a hit song for Amy Grant and Peter Cetera amongst others.
