Her well known collection of work includes The Dangerous World: New and Selected Poems, and Collected Poems. She has also translated numerous works from German and Yiddish works into English. Replansky was born in New York City to Jewish immigrants and attended the University of California, Los Angeles, for her bachelor's degree in geography in the 1950s. Even though Replansky loved poetry she never did it full time but rather earned a living working a number of service and technical jobs throughout her life. Her first published poems received little to no critical attention, however as time passed she gradually developed a following.
In 2018 a documentary was made called Naomi Replansky at 100. She also has portrait of herself painted by Joseph Solman in the permanent collection of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden at the Smithsonian Institution.
