Francis Patrick Salemme was an American mobster also known by the names "Cadillac Frank" and "Julian Daniel Selig”. He was a hitman who rose in ranks to eventually take over the Patriarca crime family in New England Mafia region’s top organized crime in the 1990s. He served in the Army during the Korean War and after receiving a honourable discharge, he became a licenced electrician. His acquaintance with the Patriarca family mobster was in prison in 1957. He started working with Morelli in criminal activities after getting out of prison, and he quickly gained stature in crime family for his obedience and excellent money making skills. He committed numerous crimes like killing rivalry gang members and car bombing of John Fitzgerald, a lawyer representing Patriarca mob informant Joseph Barboza. He became a government informant, after Salemme was put into witness protection program in 2003. In 2018 Salemme was convicted of the murder of 43-year-old Steven A. DiSarro, and was sentenced to life in prison. He died in prison at age 85 due to declining health.
