Ermias Joseph Asghedom was an American rapper popularly known by his professional name Nipsey Hussle, he emerged from the West Coast hip hop scene in the mid 2000’s.

Nipsey released his first mixtape Slauson Boy Volume 1 in December 2005, and he gained moderate local success. His debut gained him a regional fanbase which prompted him to get signed to Cinematic Music Group and Epic Records. He released the first two instalments in his Bullets Aint Got No Name series mixtape, and this gained him more audience, granting himself collaborations with famous artists like Drake and Snoop Dog. Besides singing, Nipsey played small roles in Bone Thugs-n- Harmony’s semi-autobiography film I Tried. He also starred in the film Caged Animal alongside Ving Rhames. He was also invested in the young black people’s lives; he gave them solutions and inspiration in their lives. He funded improvements in the neighbourhood schools, and he took time to spend time with students.
Nipsey was survived by three children, one from his relationship with his girlfriend at time of death, Lauren London . Nipsey died on March 31, 2019, at the age of 33 after he was shot at least 10 times in the parking lot of his store. His murderer was Eric Ronald Holder and he was found guilty of first degree murder and two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter.
